Our Kids Rock Program
I strongly believe in progress and innovation. New inventions are what move our world forward. Bright young minds are creative and unafraid to try new things. Based on this belief, I asked my 12-year-old son if he could create a logo for me, for the Our Kids Rock Program.
He was intrigued and asked what the logo would be about and its purpose. I explained that I was planning to create a website for the team members of our dental offices, with the company name being PIL Dental. I clarified that each letter stands for the core values of our clinic's culture: Passion, Integrity, and Learning.
Eagerly, he began brainstorming ideas for the logo's design and presentation. My son is very artistic and open-minded. He also recommended that the logo be surrounded by a circle or rounded square to symbolize Integrity. I proposed incorporating a book into the logo to signify Learning. However, he pointed out that in the modern world, learning often occurs through screens—laptops, phones, or tablets—and suggested that the logo should resemble an app icon.
This collaborative effort is how the PIL Dental logo for the Our Kids Rock Program was born, embodying the values of Passion, Integrity, and Learning in a modern and innovative design. - Dr. Alex Pilipenko

Philanthropic Journey
We are all influenced by the circumstances and people that surround us. Some events or individuals leave a profound impact, while others have a more subtle effect on our lives. My philanthropic journey began when I was an associate dentist. One Friday morning, a new sixth-grade girl came to see me. During my conversation with her mother, I learned that my young patient was involved in a significant project to feed children at schools. I was shocked to discover that over 50,000 students come to school without breakfast or lunch each day. It was heart-wrenching to realize that in such a wealthy country, there are children who go hungry. This revelation profoundly moved me, and I made it my mission to help those in need.
When I purchased my dental office in Manotick, the first cheque I wrote was to support the Kanata Minor Hockey Association. This donation helped young athletes participate in an extra tournament. I believe that if half the world focused on the well-being of children, it would be a much better place.
At PIL Dental, we are committed to making a difference in our community by supporting initiatives that help children and families in need. Join us in our mission to create a brighter future for the next generation.
